An all-day First Aid & CPR Training session for Biotech and Business SHSM students took place on Friday, December 13, 2019 in the small gym. Students learned a variety of skills from three former paramedics including how to assess a potentially dangerous scene, approach an unconscious patient, use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and perform chest compressions on infants, children, and adults.

Other techniques acquired during this training session included transporting a patient to a safe area, bandaging methods, and mitigating the effects of seizures.

Overall, students gained a greater appreciation for the work done by first responders and other health care professionals through this training session and are now ready to apply their knowledge in the real world.
