Mental Health Awareness

Mental health awareness involves learning about anxiety relief techniques and how they can help in our everyday lives, such as when making oral presentations. These techniques range from simple ones such as breathing exercises to more complex ones involving self-reflection on negative internal messaging or trying to analyze the reasons why someone’s behaviour might have caused you to feel anxious. Many of the ways to reduce anxiety are things that we have all done from time to time but never thought about as a formal “technique”, such as organizing our room, taking a relaxing bath, or crossing something off of our to-do list. Regarding oral presentations, one technique is to stand up and present a few of our life goals to our classmates. This is good practice for overcoming anxiety when delivering a presentation in front of our peers and builds self-confidence for greater success in the future.
